School Hours

School starts at 8:00 am and ends at 2:15 pm Monday - Friday.

There is no supervision for students before 7:30 am. 

Students should be picked up no later than 3:00 pm.

Attendance Procedures

If your student is absent, please call our ATTENDANCE HOTLINE (925-682-8000 x5090) or email at within 72 hours to let us know why your student is absent.

You do not need to come in the office to clear an absence.

Speak clearly and list the following or put the following in the e-mail:

Student's last name (spell please), first name, grade, date(s) of absence, reason, your name, your phone number, and your relation to student.

Please speak slowly and clearly.

Homework Club

Homework Club takes place in Room C2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:15.

Chat with the Administration

On the first Friday of each month, VVMS hosts Chat with the Administration at 9:30 am in the Library.  

VVMS parents, come by for refreshments and conversation!

Valley View Fundraiser 

Fundraiser- Eat at Kinder's 

On January 25, 2019, we will be hosting a Kinder's partnership fundraiser. Visit their Concord, Martinez, or Pleasant Hill locations & bring a flyer. 15% of the total profits will go to our school. We are doing this fundraiser to raise money for school activities like field day.  Help support Valley View students.

Mindfulness Series Class

Adrienne Lopez teaches 8th grade English at Valley View Middle School. As a Certified Mindfulness Practitioner, a trained Non-Violent Communication practitioner, and Positive Behavior Intervention Support Coordinator, she is passionate about providing mindfulness-based awareness practices for her students, staff, and the local community. 

Mrs. Lopez is doing a six-week Mindfulness series starting Jan 15th and ending Feb 26th. Every Tuesday from 6-7 PM in room A5 at VVMS.

Free and Reduced Meal Service

“Parents, please remember new meal applications must be submitted for the 2018-2019 school year to receive lunch and breakfast for free or at a reduced price. The meals being served are healthy and nutritious that supports your student towards academic achievement. End of Day Policy

Dear Parents,                                                                                                         At 3:00 the gates will be closed and anyone still waiting for a ride will be instructed to remain in front of the Multi-Use room.  There will be no supervision after 3:00 and students should be leaving campus.  Students who are under supervision with a teacher will be walked out to the front when their activity is over.  Thank you for making arrangements for your students after school.
