If your student is absent, please call our ATTENDANCE HOTLINE (925-682-8000 x5090) or email at within 72 hours to let us know why your student is absent.

You do not need to come in the office to clear an absence.

Speak clearly and list the following or put the following in the e-mail:

Student's last name (spell please), first name, grade, date(s) of absence, reason, your name, your phone number, and your relation to student.

Please speak slowly and clearly.

Short Term Independent Study 

Please email Margaret Vercammen-Grandjean, the attendance secretary @  & Mrs. Sullivan @  with the following info at least 10 school days lead-time before departure date:

1)     Student's first/last name

2)     Reason for being out of school

3)     Last date in school

4)     First date back in school
Once you've sent your email, please send your student to the office at 7:45am so that Mrs. Vercammen-Grandjean can review the contract with the student.

Note: Minimum time out of school is 5 school days, maximum is 4 weeks.  Short Term Independent Study is for non-medical absences.

 If a student is going to be out for medical reasons and will be out three or more weeks then Home and Hospital would be the correct program.  Please e-mail Mrs. Sullivan at  or call Mrs. Sullivan at 925-682-800 ext. 5010 for  Home and Hospital requests and information.  If shorter than three weeks then e-mail  to inform the school about the absence and e-mail student’s teacher for homework.


Homework Club takes place in Room C2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:15.

(except Tuesdays after a Monday Holiday or PD day)

CPHS Open HOuse & 8th grade Information/Elective Night

All students and parents of current 8th graders are invited and encouraged to attend College Park's Open House and 8th Grade Elective Night on February 20, from 6pm-7:30pm.

Beginning with a welcome and introductory message from the CPHS Principal Mr. Alvarez in the Hurtado Gym at 6pm, the evening is an important opportunity for 8th grade families to learn about their new school. 

Come visit classrooms, meet teachers, learn about graduation and college admissions requirements, check performing arts presentations, and more. 

There will be a special early session for parents to meet with the counseling staff in the gymnasium at 5:30pm.

On the first Friday of each month, VVMS hosts Chat with the Administration at 9:30 a.m. Please check in at the office for location.  

VVMS parents, come by for refreshments and conversation!

Dear Parents,                                                                                                         At 3:00 the gates will be closed and anyone still waiting for a ride will be instructed to remain in front of the Multi-Use room.  There will be no supervision after 3:00 and students should be leaving campus.  Students who are under supervision with a teacher will be walked out to the front when their activity is over.  Thank you for making arrangements for your students after school.
