School Hours

School starts at 8:00 am and ends at 2:15 pm Monday - Friday.

There is no supervision for students before 7:30 am. 

Students should be picked up no later than 3:00 pm.

Attendance Procedures

If your student is absent, please call our ATTENDANCE HOTLINE (925-682-8000 x5090) or email at within 72 hours to let us know why your student is absent.

You do not need to come in the office to clear an absence.

Speak clearly and list the following or put the following in the e-mail:

Student's last name (spell please), first name, grade, date(s) of absence, reason, your name, your phone number, and your relation to student.

Please speak slowly and clearly.

Homework Club

Homework Club takes place in Room C2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:15.

On the first Friday of each month, VVMS hosts Chat with the Administration at 9:30 am in the Library.

Free and Reduced Meal Service

“Parents, please remember new meal applications must be submitted for the 2018-2019 school year to receive lunch and breakfast for free or at a reduced price. The meals being served are healthy and nutritious that supports your student towards academic achievement. If you have any questions or need help please call Food & Nutrition Services at (925) 682-8000 extension 4124. You may also submit meal applications online at the MDUSD Food & Nutrition Services webpage at Thank you” 


Volunteers Needed for 6th Grade Welcome Party

6th Grade Welcome Party: Volunteers are Needed

All 6th grade students are invited to a free after school event.  The party will be held on Friday September 21st from 2:30pm-3:30pm.  We will have free music, games, & activities.  Food and drinks will be for sale also.  Admission and activities are free, but all attendees need to fill out a permission slip to attend.  Permission slips will be given out in Core classes by the 14th. Additionally. extras can be found in the office as well as our Valley View website.   Click here for the permission slip.  

Volunteers are needed to help with donated food/drink items, to supervise during the event, or to help clean up or set up the event. Volunteers must be on the official volunteer list from the Mt. Diablo School District - finger printed and TB tested.  Use the Sign Up Genius link to volunteer:

There will be an 8th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip Informational Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 12th from 6:30-7:30 P.M. in Room D-7.


If you would like to know more about this fun opportunity for your 8th grade student, please come to the meeting.

End of Day Policy

Dear Parents,                                                                                                         At 3:00 the gates will be closed and anyone still waiting for a ride will be instructed to remain in front of the Multi-Use room.  There will be no supervision after 3:00 and students should be leaving campus.  Students who are under supervision with a teacher will be walked out to the front when their activity is over.  Thank you for making arrangements for your students after school.
