Parent Patrol

We need 4-6 Parent Patrol volunteers to patrol the campus at lunchtime each day. Only two VVMS employees are available to keep an eye on over 700 students. If you can help out, just go to the office at noon to sign in and receive instructions. You'll need to be able to stay until 12:45 p.m.

Parent volunteers must be fingerprinted by the school district and have a current (within last two years) TB test (click here for more information).

Volunteer Information

Parent Volunteers

Parents are welcome to volunteer at Valley View. We have a variety of ways that you can help. The one common thing is that you must have your fingerprints on record at MDUSD, and you must have a current TB test on file. If you have already been fingerprinted for another school in our district, please let us know and we can look it up for you. You may also bring in the page you were given at the time of clearance.

Information can be found here:  http://www.mdusd.org/Parents/Pages/fingerprint.aspx

New fingerprinting options

We have partnered with the Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) to fingerprint on our behalf. The fingerprinting cost is $32.00 + a $25.00 rolling fee (totaling $57.00). If the volunteer is willing to pay that, the process is as follows: The volunteer will come in to Personnel at VVMS and drop off their TB test, and completed volunteer letter, or complete one while in the office and address an envelope. The volunteer will complete the Live Scan Form while in the office. The office will block out the Agency Billing # BIL-110182, then photocopy the Form for their records. The volunteer will take the original Live Scan Form with them. The office will not collect any money. VVMS will be provided with the results of the background check, as usual. The Contra Costa County Office of Education is located at: 77 Santa Barbara Road Pleasant Hill, CA 94523 Call 925-942-3387 for appointment/No Walk-Ins Hours are typically 8:00-4:00 Accept Cash, Credit/Debit Cards, Cashier's Checks and Money Orders. No personal checks. Applicant will bring the Live Scan Form and Photo ID.

Library Volunteers

We are looking for parents to volunteer in the school library at lunchtime. If we have enough volunteers, we can open the library to students during lunchtime. You need to be available noon-12:45, and need to attend a training session before volunteering.

As with all volunteer positions, you need to be fingerprinted and have a current TB test on file with the MDUSD.

For more information, please contact Nancy Gerber.
